ECOUNITY Consortium Gathers in Bucharest for Another Milestone Meeting!

November 4, 2024 | Bucharest, Romania — hosted by Universitatea Națională de Știință și Tehnologie Politehnica București (UPB)

The ECOUNITY project is racing ahead at full speed! On November 4, 2024, the consortium’s partners reunited in the vibrant Romanian capital of Bucharest for the project’s 3rd Transnational Project Meeting — a day filled with productive discussions, strategic planning, and the unmistakable excitement of a project delivering real results!

The meeting was warmly opened by Alexandra Ioanid on behalf of the host institution UPB, welcoming partners from Slovakia, Croatia, Turkey, Poland, and beyond. While the University of Lodz (UL) team joined online and BL’s Jozef Ridzon made a spirited late arrival after navigating train delays, nothing could dampen the energy in the room!

The agenda was ambitious and the partners rose to the challenge. Project coordinator Marián Tóth (SUA Nitra) presented an update on budget allocations and the overall project timeline, with great news: Work Package 2 translations were almost complete, with all partners committing to finish by November 20th. The meeting then turned to the exciting developments in Work Package 3, with Elif Anda from MELLIS presenting the fully operational LMS platform — a key achievement that visibly thrilled the consortium. Animated video texts had been received from partners and were ready for technical production, with a target of completion in English by mid-January. Regular video scripts and blog articles from multiple partners were also well underway.

The most exciting part of the meeting, however, was the detailed planning of Work Package 4 — the Focus Group Interviews, Comparative Legal Analysis, and the SGD Guide and Action Plan. Partners collectively designed the focus group interview process, assigned responsibilities for the country-based legal analyses, and outlined the ambitious piloting process, which will see students across all partner countries engage hands-on with the ECOUNITY curriculum, NGO visits, photo exhibitions, and a project competition. All templates for the piloting process were confirmed as ready to go!

The Bucharest meeting was a powerful demonstration of what truly committed, cross-European collaboration looks like. With all key deliverables on track and an energised consortium ready for the next phase, the ECOUNITY project is proving that universities, students, and local actors can come together to make a real difference for sustainable green development!
